RAFFLE Status:
- Mike B, selected by virtue of Nancy K’s button press, assertively sank two balls on his Table 05’s break shot. The 2-ball was the next target and sat about one third of the way toward the northwest corner from the north side pocket. The cue ball was on the southern side of the table with an approximate 105-degree angle for slicing the 2-ball to the corner. Many around the table were likely thinking bank shot, but Mike chose to slice it and needed more mustard on the knife.
- Frank C had a series of enthusiastic thrusts behind him while he racked on Table 05, but it did not help any balls get pocketed on his break.
- The entire raffle pot rolls over to Week 03.
OTHER:
- Ben F made his league debut and scored 60 for the Motley Cue team and Rob F (seemingly unrelated) scored 52 in his league debut for Bar Box Jellyfish. That 8-point diff was the exact variance in the two games they played against each other. Randy V scored 72 in his league debut with Ultra M.A.G.A.
- Joe L returned to league play with Noiiice after a multi-season absence and shot a 62.
- The G brothers were matched up twice on Table 10 and Lito outscored Romy 15-14. In the 1st game, Romy donated a ball-in-hand opportunity with three of his own balls still on the table while only one remained for Lito. Lito drew with perfect angle to easily deposit the 8-ball into the northwest corner. This author didn’t get to watch the 2nd game.
- In the league’s final game of the night, David G (the Goose) scored a victory when his opponent and former teammate Robert S shot a hanging 8-ball vigorously into the side pocket such that the cue-ball caromed off the side rail and into the opposite corner pocket.
- Two more players (Romy G and Julian F) invested a fin in the Top-Shooter Side-Pot. The deadline for any other participants is 11pm of Week 03.
