Noteworthy events from 2022 Autumn Week 16 (Party)

Outstanding outing(s):

  1. The final Scotch-Doubles tournament match (after 14 teams were enrolled) was available to begin a couple minutes after midnight, so both teams agreed to split the pot evenly.   Ed S & Sultan S was one of the teams and Lito G & Micah N was the other.
    • Ed & Sultan were victorious in the preceding three matches against:
      • Mona T & David “Goose” G – this one also measured as the longest duration match of the night.
      • Jeff H & Crus A – and a scratch on the hill/hill 8-ball ended the match.
      • Nancy K & Wes P
    • Lito & Micah won their preceding three matches against:
      • Mark H & Jim McC
      • Tom B & TJ B – who had a BYE the first round
      • Joe L & Sean B

RAFFLE Status:

  1. James W broke dry on Table 11.
  2. Ben F (first time ever selected) broke dry on Table 14.
  3. The entire raffle pot rolls over to next week’s official 2023 Spring Season sign-up night!

OTHER:

  1. The end of season ceremony included the following announcements:
    1. The Road Warriors team finished in 1st place averaging 315.933 points per week.
    2. Mona T was the league’s official Top Shooter with a 9.027 points per game average.
      1. He also won the top-shooter Side-Pot, but he was the only one who actually even offered to get into it.
    3. Cristina C was recognized with the greatest average-per-game percentage improvement (12.21%) when comparing final average to the average heading into Week 01.
    4. Other stats from this season:
      • 88 of our 93 rostered players had at least one week played.
      • Just like the preceding season, we had 6 players make their league debuts.  Three of these were all from the Six Amigos roster!  Thank you Ramiro G for a fine recruitment effort.
      • 24 different people were selected in the raffle draws this season (Ben tonight made it 25). Four cashed-in winnings – Mike K the only one who did it twice.  There also still has not been anyone cash out since Week 09.
      • There was mention of a couple players from the past:
        • Will K phoned the League Operator on the evening prior to this party night and offered “hello” to all who remain from his tenure.
        • The League Operator has attempted to phone longtime league member Bob M several times over the past year without success. We continue to wish he is comfortable in whatever state he’s in.
  2. Nine 18″ pizzas went fast.
  3. Contact your captains if you didn’t collect your prize money yet from the 2022 Autumn season.
