Outstanding outing(s):
- Eighties night for six players:
- Kevin C, Paul S, Andreas R, Joe L, Nancy K, and Chris D
- A mere 77 for Jerry W.
- Pocket Rattlers teammates Jerry R and Scott C each shot a 76.
RAFFLE Status:
- Steve V was the first selection. He made the 8 on his Table 15 break. No balls were within 3 inches of each other. Cue-ball had a tough cut on the 1 in NW corner. Steve tried, but missed.
- Mark H was picked for the 2nd consecutive week after a significant dry spell. Speaking of dry, that’s how he broke on this night’s Table 12.
- By virtue of the new Rule 19.H.ii, a 3rd selection was randomized and Mike M broke on Table 07.
- Mike made the 3 and the 5 on the break (those add up to 8 by the way – just like Steve V’s earlier attempt tonight).
- The cue-ball situated in the SE quadrant near the SE corner. The 1-ball and 5-ball were rolling together near the south side and observers were queasy that they’d configure messy when they stopped. But, the 1 knocked the 5 into the side and was isolated about three ball-widths NW from the side pocket.
- Mike lined up, shot, and the 1-ball made a slow, steady, suspenseless path into the SW corner pocket.
- The cue-ball rolled to the NW corner with no good shapes on the deuce.
- Mike cashed out for one third of the available pot.
- The remaining raffle pot rolls over to Week 02.
OTHER:
- League debuts included:
- Pool Sharks teammates Patricia S and Matthew D. They combined for 77 points.
- Joe S from The Bullys tallied half a hundred.
- Tom Barn… began the night as a rostered sub on one team and ended up as a rostered sub on a different team. Other roster changes included the additions of:
- Angela S as a sub for Pool Sharks,
- Fermin A and Norberto E as subs for HWGA Rejects 2.0, and
- Scott C as a sub for Pocket Rattlers
- Free Agents had the only case of a missing player that caused a handicap subtraction impact (8 points). Their opponent Stick-e-Balls was therefore awarded an additional 8 points. See Rule 20.E’s example i. for justification.
- Mighty Mantis Shrimp incurred a 15-point penalty with the absence of two players.
- Frank C’s break cue went missing for a short while. Patricia S was recognized as the resolving sleuth.
- The Sharon C <–> Scott C pair considerately adopted Frank C as a passenger.
- Nobody invested yet in the Top Shooter side-pot competition. See rule 24.B for more details.
