Noteworthy events from 2023 Spring Week 07

Outstanding outing(s):

  1. Mark D, Julian F, and Romy G each had a perfect 80.
  2. Lito G scored 77 points.
  3. Frank C and Mark H each shot a 76.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Sharon C was selected for the first time ever and broke on Table 15.
    • The 5-ball and 8-ball disappeared into pockets.
    • The cue-ball was near the kitchen’s break line border and the 1-ball was deep in the kitchen favoring the NW corner.
    • Sharon found a clear path to slice it in.
    • The cue-ball caromed back to the east rail for near-perfect shapes on a long 2-ball to the SW corner.  But she chose to cash out for one third of the available pot.
    • Rumor has it she made the 2 afterward and scratched in the south side.
  2. Cristina C got picked and broke dry on Table 12, but the 2-ball came very close to the NW corner.
  3. It is worth noting that the pot size at tonight’s onset was the largest since 2021 Spring’s Week 06.  After infusing tonight’s investments, it had grown to the largest since Week 10 of the 2018 Autumn season.
  4. The remaining raffle pot, now slightly more than the start of two weeks ago, rolls over to Week 08.

OTHER:

  1. It’s a bit ironic that the cue tip snapped off the break cue Sharon C used in the practice hour.
  2. Micah N made his season debut and managed to claim the one victory accomplished in 16 games against the G brothers tonight.
  3. Mike H didn’t fare as well in his season debut vying against the current 1st place team.
  4. The absence of Jerry W had no HCP impact on Wolff Pack.
  5. The foreshadowed match between Dogans and Scotts ended peacefully with the elders outscoring the youngers.
  6. Something extremely rare happened tonight.  It may never have happened before.  The team versus team matches ended in perfect sequence from highest table numbers 14 and 15 through lowest table numbers 02 and 03.
