Outstanding outing(s):
- Chris O and Nancy K each scored a perfect 80.
- Tim C, Mike H, and Jim McC each had a 77.
- Steve G, always an exceptional person and player, had a 76 for the 2nd consecutive week!!!
RAFFLE Status:
- Mike K almost-instantly dropped one on the break but was left with a 1-ball hugging the back rail and cue ball slightly northeast of center table. He made a firm stroke, but the 1-ball did not cooperate and caused the cue ball to virtually die upon contact.
- Tim C snapped in two on the break and had a clean shot on the 1-ball, but getting on the 3-ball was tough to set up. He sank the 1-ball and drew well to get into the 3’s neighborhood. Risk was too high, so he cashed out for one third (3/9ths) of the available pot. Rumor has it that he ran the table anyway.
- As always, the remaining available pot rolls over to Week 03.
OTHER:
- Smokey G and teammate Dan B shot their first match since the end of the previous Autumn season – welcome back!
- Nancy K’s 80 was not the reason, but she was voted into the open slot for League Officer thereby replacing Kevin A. She now joins Kevin C and Jim McC. She received more than half (9 total) of the possible votes among the 17 teams. Each of the 5 candidates, although disallowed from voting for self, received at least one vote.
- This is the normal time of season when players ask…:
- …why other players with fewer points are ahead of them in the individual standings. The reason is that the standings are ordered first by Average Points Per Game and that average is proportionally-influenced by a certain percentage of legacy season data.
- …about the Team Standings which are ordered first by Average Points per Week Played because we have a different BYE team each week. This technique therefore displays the truest possible standings-status of each team.
- …and finally about that weird looking Incremental Points per Week Needed column in the Team Standings. It is only used when the schedule has BYE weeks. It will always assume the team in 1st place maintains their weekly average and therefore shows what each team needs to score above and beyond their respective current weekly average in order to tie the 1st place team by the end of the season.
