Outstanding outing(s):
- Chris O scored the only perfect 80 of the night. It was his 4th of the season, but 1st since Week 05.
- Roy S and John R each shot a 76.
RAFFLE Status:
- Ramiro G was selected for the 1st time since Week 16 of the August 2017 season. He finished empty on that occasion, but snapped two balls in on this night’s break shot. He then easily sank the 1-ball and had decent shape to continue. He asked what the value was thus far and chose to cash out. BUT WAIT! An often-heard voice during these proceedings proclaimed, “You’re not going to go for that 2-ball?” Ramiro then assertively changed his mind and sank the 2-ball into the Southeast corner of Table 13. He then cashed out for sure with 4/9ths of the available pot.***
- Henry G broke dry.
- The remaining raffle pot rolls over to Party night.
***It makes one wonder whether Ramiro offered any of the 4th ball’s value to “the voice.” Still greater wonder is evoked whether “the voice” would have compensated Ramiro if he had missed pocketing the 2-ball.
OTHER:
- 2nd through 6th place in the previous week’s standings were all within 34 points of each other. Among them, only the 2nd place team held its position. Two others climbed and the remaining two descended.
- There was an unusual quantity of individual game shutouts this week. In fact, only the matches on tables 8&9 and on 10&11 didn’t have at least one. Time was not invested to determine whether 14 sets a new record, but that’s what it was this week.
- Probably related to Other item 2 above, but only three people shot higher than a 72 this week. Equal time will be spent researching whether or not that sets a record.
