Update from 11Jul2020

There was a message sent to all league captains one week ago (see post from 04Jul2020).
Below are the received responses in no particular order <bracketed text is paraphrased to protect identity and also for brevity>:

  1. Hopefully, we can start up soon and get back to some kind of normalcy
  2. <Two of us> are going to wait until the fall session starts.  If you check with the others on the team, they’ve already been playing in tournaments, so if you start up they may want to jump on a team.
  3. <A pair> from my team are ready to go asap with no safety concerns.  <A third> isn’t overly concerned and is willing to follow the venue guidelines.  <The other two> are not ready until <virus safety is significantly less risky>.
  4. None of <my team> are ready to come back for leagues yet.
  5. Start date for <two of us> is better after <early Sept>.
  6. …my team would still like to play however a few members are going to be leaving. It shouldn’t be too much of an issue filling those spots. When it comes to start times, we’d like to start ASAP.
  7. ASAP for the team
  8. <At least four out of our five> will comply with whatever is required and <want back ASAP>
  9. <Ready and willing although team roster might get revised>
  10. <One other team still checking because the info got to the captain later than the rest of you>.
  11. No answers received from any of the other 6 teams.

If you were keeping count, you would have determined that approximately six out of our previous 16 teams are ready to start up again.

It is therefore logical to hold a “typical” sign-up night this coming Thursday (16Jul2020) starting at 7:30pm.  Those who sign up will be entitled to $7 table time for the night.  The League Operator will also make applicable Spring season refunds available for those qualified who have not yet collected.

All other venue-based rules will be in effect – check with Shooter’s on the details.  One is that masks are welcome, but not required.
If government and venue allow for it, we can start July 23rd and run through Aug 27 (5 or 6 teams).  If we have 7 or 8 teams, it would run through Sept 10th, it would be Sept 24th if we have 9 or 10 teams, and so on.

At the meeting, team captains will be asked to vote on various topics including:

  1. What to do if the venue becomes unavailable to us before the season ends
  2. League-specific social distance stipulations that are amenable to all
  3. ACS sanctioning and all other pre-existing league rules are also available for revision
