Outstanding outing(s):
- Kevin C and Jerry R each had perfect 80s.
- In Kevin’s case, it was his only one this season and sealed his Top Shooter qualification.
- In Jerry’s case, it was his 2nd consecutive perfect score.
- Brian C shot a 77.
- Each of Brian C’s Cue Quest teammates (Dennis C, Mark D, and Mike McG) shot a 76 as did Mona T.
RAFFLE Status:
- Jerry R supplemented his league play’s perfect 80 with a solid Table 08 break that resulted in cashing out 3/9ths of the available pot. His break was strong and left a nearly-hanging 2-ball in the southeast corner. After sinking it, the cue ball nuzzled up frozen on the 3-ball and almost directly pointed toward the northwest corner pocket. After sinking it smoothly, the 4-ball had too much interference and so Jerry cashed out.
- Frank C allowed Table 08 to forget about what Jerry R had done and then magically racked on it for the 2nd raffle opportunity. The magic disappeared with a dry break.
- The remaining raffle pot rolls over to Week 10 (party week)!!
OTHER:
- The first couple hours of league play were accented with the sound and presence of Will Rock radio who hosted a Milwaukee Summerfest drawing. At least one of our league members and our spirited front-counter attendant ended up as beneficiaries!! Congrats to Ryan and Sarah.
- Recently active league member Kevin G dropped in for some practice on Table 16.
- The inherent drama of the final week’s competition begot a sharp focus on the final game on Table 06 between Peace and Quiet and Diamond Cutters. A win by the P&Q player would guarantee their league championship, whereas a loss would guarantee 2nd place. The result is obvious in the league standings, but the long standing memory will be that a subset of the Wolff Pack behaved more like a Shiver of Sharks.
