Noteworthy events from 2021 Spring Week 10 (Party)

Outstanding outing(s):

  1. The final scotch doubles match of the night had the prize money chopped in half and distributed before anybody even wielded a pool cue.
    • The team of Romy G and Jason G (unrelated) earned the appearance after succeeding against the team of Dennis C and Ray M in their semi-final match.
    • The team of Mike McG and John V (each of whom are also unrelated to Romy) earned their finals entry by defeating Mona T and Ryan P
  2. Paul S had the shot of the night.
    • His team was down 1-0 in the 2nd round race-to-2 match.
    • His opponent played a safe by leaving the cue-ball in the middle of the foot rail of Table 5, the 8-ball (Paul’s only remaining ball) right up against the north rail about an inch east of the northwest corner pocket, and an opponent object ball in between cue ball and 8-ball.
    • Paul lined up and aggressively kicked the cue-ball off the eastern rail perfectly to drop the 8-ball cleanly into the NW corner pocket.  The match instantly became hill-hill.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Dennis C was selected and broke dry on Table 06.
  2. Mona T was selected for the 3rd time this season.  He made a ball on his Table 12 break shot and the 1-ball situated itself not far from the southeast corner pocket (maybe four inches to the northwest).  The trouble was that the cue-ball was approximately 8 feet and 10 inches away from the 1-ball along the northern rail.  Mona was unafraid and attacked the shot with authority dropping the 1-ball successfully into the corner.  It was such a firm shot that the cue-ball ricocheted off the south rail and quickly disappeared into the diagonally opposite northwest corner pocket.
  3. The entire raffle pot rolls over to 2021 Summer signup night!
