Noteworthy events from 2021 Autumn Week 11

Outstanding outing(s):

  1. Larry P, Tim C, and Julian F each had a perfect 80.
  2. Mike H, who hadn’t played since Week 03, shot a 74.
  3. Bryan W and Fermin A scored 72 each.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. James W miscued on his Table 12 break.  It was a good hit by legal-rules definition, but nothing found the bottom of a pocket.
  2. Nancy K, after having just lost a league game, sank one ball on her Table 03 break.  The 1-ball begged her to sink it into the southeast corner pocket and she obliged it on her post-break shot.  Even before the cue-ball ceased rolling, she declared she wanted to cash out her two sunken balls as a pre-Christmas present.
  3. She left the remaining raffle pot for a Week 12 pre-New Year present (to someone still to be determined).

OTHER:

  1. Bob G made his league debut with Racking My Brain.  His obscurity did not deter the first-place Road Warriors from dealing him a pair of twos for a final score.
  2. We had our first two teams of the season penalized for only having two players (see rule 20.D for details).
  3. We also had several players missing tonight across the league – probably attributed to a combination of upcoming holidays and/or a new wave of illnesses.  For the former, best wishes for safety and joy.  For the latter, the league hopes you’ll feel better and return healthy when you can.
