Noteworthy events from 2023 Spring Week 13

Outstanding outing(s):

  1. Mark D registered the only perfect 80.
  2. Jim S and Kevin C each shot a 77.
  3. James W tallied 74.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Lito G miscued the break for a foul on Table 03. The cue-ball left the kitchen and never quite made it to the NW corner pocket.  The rack remained perfectly unscathed.
  2. Mona T proved that Table 03 was not friendly tonight. He scratched in the south side pocket on his break.  IRONY ALERT: Exactly two seasons ago in the same week (Week 13 of 2022 Summer), Lito G was selected first and then selected Mona afterward.  But on that night, Mona cashed out after sinking 6 balls.
  3. The entire raffle pot remains available for Week 14.

OTHER:

  1. Angela S made her season debut against Wolff Pack and raised her average points per game.
  2. The Bullys, with one absence, had a HCP variance as exampled in rule 20.E.i and thereby awarded their opponents (Double Focus) a bonus 8 points.
  3. Last week there were 11 different players who scored 76 points or more.  This week only three players did it.
  4. Mark D’s perfect score this week took over the driver’s seat of the Top Shooter bus.  On the way, he passed four of his competitors in the side-pot competition.
  5. The top two teams in the standings have the same opponents in the next and final two weeks.  Double Focus currently has four more projected points than Stick-e-Balls.
  6. Former league member Cassandra G dropped in to say hello.
  7. Andreas R was back to play after a 12 week absence.
  8. The 13-ball decided to mysteriously drop into the ball return on Table 04 during a game, but not because it was sunk on a shot.  Neither player, nor observers, could explain it.
    • The 13-ball on week 13 suggests that triskaideka kidnapping may have been involved.
    • The referee ruled that the ball be returned to its previously-known position on the table and the game resumed.
