  1. Craig P had our 1st 80 for this season.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Speaking of Craig P (shot 80 up above, almost have a perfect night), Table 5; had a spectacular break making the 1-ball and 7-ball on the break. Table was set up very nicely. He then made the 2-ball, then the 3-ball, then the 4-ball, then the 5-ball, then the 6-ball, setting up perfectly for the 8-ball…….and MISSED! So uncharacteristic of Craig!! That was a bummer!! Such a nice table run! No money for making all those balls since he missed.
  2. The entire raffle pot rolls over to Week 03.

  4. The deadline for adding subs is forthcoming at 11pm on Week 03:

  3. Mona T tallied 76 points.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Sean B, Table 5; was selected for the 1st time THIS season, after being picked 4 times last season! The 5-ball dropped in the bottom right corner pocket, but he was left with no clear shot on the 1-ball as the 6-ball was blocking it. He had a great 2-rail kick shot to hit the 1-ball, which almost knocked the 6-ball in the top right corner pocket, but need just a little more umph!
  2. As voted at the Captain’s Meeting, only one selection will be picked until the pot is builds up.
  3. The entire raffle pot rolls over to Week 02.

  6. Wishing Jerry W well wishes!!

Noteworthy events from 2026 Summer Signup Night

The official signup for the general public concluded with 14 teams enrolled.  The season will end on 08Oct2026’s Party night.

If any other individuals are interested to join in, please notify the venue (Shooter’s Sports Bar and Billiards, Grayslake, Illinois)  before Tuesday, 07July2026:7:00pm.  The venue will, in turn, notify the league operator by the final deadline of 8pm on the same night.

The season’s match play officially begins on Thursday, 09July2026 at 7:30pm.

The captains/delegates at the meeting participated in a rule change discussion and vote.  Summary of the discussions:

  1. 9ball Raffle – When the raffle pot is under $150 a ball, there will be only one pick, until the pot reaches $200 a ball, then 2 picks will be pulled. Gives the pot a chance to build up.
  2. Tickets vs Randomizer. Couple of people were interested in going back to the Randomizer, but the majority stuck with Tickets. No change.
  3. Again, someone brought up a dislike for the no-jumping rule, but that remains a venue rule with which we must comply.

RAFFLE Status:

There were 115 chances invested in Thursday evening’s raffle opportunity. With the pot under the $150/ball mark, only one pick was chosen:

The 7-ball darted quickly into the top right corner pocket.  She had the 1-ball in the side, softly hit and made getting position on the 2-ball in the other side, made it. Noteworthy events from 2026 Spring FINAL Week 15

Outstanding outing(s):

  1. Craig P (had his 4th) perfect 80 for this season!
  2. Zane E shot 77.
  3. Teammates Kyle B and John W, and Mona T each tallied 76.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Mona T, Table 5; (picked for the first time this season since week 18 of last season) Strong break making 3 balls on the break! Unfortunately, one of them was the cue ball!
  2. Mona T, picked himself (making it the 2nd time in a row for this season). His second chance was rewarding, as he made the 2-ball on the break. Had a great shot on the 1-ball in the side, however, the 3-ball was in a bad spot to even attempt to get position, therefore, opting for 2/9ths of the pot.
  3. The remaining pot is available for Week 16’s party night.

  3. NOTE: 2026 Spring Week 16 (next week) is our party night and will include pizza, another 9-ball runout raffle, sign-up sheets will be out, the Scotch Doubles tournament ($10 entry fee), and season-end prizes… all for LEAGUE MEMBERS ONLY.

  2. Nancy K and Mike M both shot a 77.
  3. Craig P totaled 76.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Ed S, Table 15; (picked for the second time this season since week 6)  He quickly made the 4-ball and the 7-ball in each of the top corner pockets. He had a really nice-looking table. The hardest shot was the first one on the 1-ball, but he made it nicely. The 2-ball hanging in the bottom left corner pocket, made it. Came up for position on the 3-ball, which was easier than the 1-ball that he made, but he opted to stop and take 4/9ths of the pot. (Afterwards, he did make 2 more balls!)
  2. Steve VD, Table 6; (picked for the 1st time this season, since being picked twice last season) He wasn’t even playing tonight but came to cheer his teammates on! Had to get his cue out of the car, unfortunately, broke dry!

  2. AC C and Mona T both shot a 77.
  3. Kyle B and Julian F each finished with 76.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Sean B, Table 15; Well! Picked for the 2nd time in-a-row and 3rd time this season, scratched on his break!
  2. Sean B, Table 8; Picked himself making it the 3rd time in-a row, 4th time this season. He made the 1-ball on the break but did not have a great shot on the 2-ball as the 3-ball was in the way of a clear shot. He tried going for a carom off the 2-ball to try making the 6-ball but actually hit the 6-ball first. No cash out!
  3. The entire raffle pot rolls over to week 14.

  4. Only 2 weeks left of this 2026 Spring season!!!

Noteworthy events from 2026 Spring Week 12

Outstanding outing(s):

  1. Zane E scored the only perfect 80.  It was his 1st for this season.
  2. Immer H registered a 77.
  3. Julian F and Ramiro G each shot a 76.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Ricky Ross, Table 6; Picked for the 3rd time this season, and 2nd time cashing out, had a nice break. Nothing looked like it was going in until the 8-ball was kissed 3 times before getting knocked into the right side pocket. That left him a great shot on the 1-ball, which he made easily. With the 9-ball making the top right corner pocket a little bigger, he made the 2-ball. He wasn’t overly confident with the angle he left himself on the 3-ball and opted for 3/9ths of the pot. (Shooting afterwards, he did pocket the 3-ball and the 4-ball!)
  2. Sean B, Table 9; Picked for the 2nd time since week 10 of this season, had another dry break. (Should’ve had Cristina rack!! Just sayin’)
  3. The remaining raffle pot rolls over to Week 13.

OTHER:

  1. There were no absent players this week!
  2. SHOUT OUT to Lew M for beating Mona T twice!!! (He said this better be in the news!) LOL Great job Lew!

  2. Steve VD shot a 77.
  3. Scott C, Zane E and teammates Alex O, Dennis S and Frankie all tallied 76.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Kevin C, Table 16; was selected for the first time this season (since week 20 of the 2025 Winter season).  He quickly made the 5-ball in the top left corner pocket. He was left with a 1-3 ball combo and easily made that but the cue ball came up around a little too far leaving a bank on the 1-ball. He opted for 2/9th of the pot. (He shot afterwards and did make that bank!)
  2. Sharon C, Table 2; also picked for the first time this season (since week 14 of last season). Even with her strong break, nothing went in. Dry break!
  3. The remaining raffle pot rolls over to Week 12.

OTHER:

  1. Racking My Brain had a missing player. The HCP was increased by 8pts, therefore, no Bonus points to their opposing team Big Slick.
  2. The Waukegan Avengers also had a missing player. No HCP impact.
  3. Free Agents with a missing player also. No HCP impact their either.
  4. Jeff L made his debut on the Scorpions shooting an impressive 69.
  5. Original average per game adjustment was retroactively made for one more new player:
    • Mark A of Behind the 8-ball was reduced to 6.222

  6. EVERYONE have a fun and safe Memorial weekend!!!
