    • The team of Kevin J & Jim McC won their preceding three matches against:
      • Dennis S & Josh G
      • Joe L and Ed G
      • Sean B and Robin V in the semi-final

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Romy G, Table 15: was selected for the 1st time (and last time) this season. The 3-ball shot into the corner pocket, the 4-ball left hanging in the side pocket. He had a nice touch shot on the 1-ball in the opposite side pocket for position on the 2-ball/4-ball combination into the opposite side pocket. Another nice touch leaving the 2-ball hanging in the same side pocket he made the 4-ball in. Now here is the heartbreaker!!! He wanted to play position for the 5-ball on the other side of the table, and may have had some funny spin on it, and when he hit the 2-ball it hit one nipple and then the other and just sat there!!!! OMG!!!
  2. Kevin C was also picked for the 1st and last time this season, and broke dry.
  3. The entire raffle pot rolls over to next week’s official 2025 Summer Season sign-up night!

OTHER:

  1. By night’s end, 13 teams were listed on the signup sheets for the 2025 Summer season.  Next week is official sign-up night to the Open Public, so we’ll expect at least a few more teams to join in then.
  2. The end of season ceremony included the following announcements:
    1. Julian F was the league’s official Top Shooter with a 8.969 points per game average. (Larry P was actually 1st but only had 14 games played and 15 games were required for the season).
    2. Kathrine P was recognized with the greatest average-per-game percentage improvement (18.84%) when comparing final average to the average heading into Week 01. Danny O was 2nd at (16.86%) and Susan N third at (12.73%).
    3. Cristina C was the player whose final average points per game was closest to what it was at the season’s onset – getting the Ed White recognition with a (0.03%)!
    4. Other stats from this season:
      • 104 of our 112 rostered players had at least one week played, and 24 people played all 18 possible weeks.

        • Tim B was picked four times this season and was unable to cash out.
        • Chris V, Steve VD and Jimmy S were each picked three times, all unable to cash out!
        • Brandon D, Eric C were chosen twice and couldn’t cash out. Nancy K, picked twice, cashed out once and Roy Schueler chosen twice and cashed out both times!
        • Danny O, Ed S, Mona and Sean B just needed the one time they were chosen to cash out!
        • There were 7 different cash-outs totaling over fifty-two hundred bucks.
  3. The league operator has no prize money left over, so contact your team captain if you didn’t collect your prize money yet.
  4. Twelve 18″ pizzas were served and none remained at the night’s end.
  5. A Scotch Doubles Tournament was conducted with 13 teams signing up.  There is still room for improvement with the coaching rules. Two occasions there was some issues with how many coaches were called causing unpleasantness.
  6. I forgot to mention a BIG SHOUT OUT to Jim McC for making the beautiful shadow box with Paul’s cue, cue holder and glove in it! You did an amazing job and will keep his memory going strong with the Shooter’s family!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

RAFFLE Status:

The 1-ball was way at the foot end of the table a couple inches off the rail almost near the middle diamond and the cue ball was at the other end of the table almost parallel to the 1-ball. He tried for a bank and came very close but did not make it.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Eric C, Table 16:  On a BYE this week, came in for some practice and of course, the raffle! Picked for the second time since Week 13 of this season, made the 7-ball in the side pocket. The 6-ball rolled in between the cue ball and the 1-ball. He tried to masse the cue around the 6-ball but was unable to pocket the 1-ball.
  2. Brandon D, Table 14: Also picked for the second time this season since Week 6, sank the 5-ball in the side pocket. The cue ball sat in the jaws of the foot right-corner pocket with a clear shot on the 1-ball in the side. Not a bad shot to start with. He looked over the table, 2-ball sitting pretty for a next shot in the opposite side pocket, however, he wanted to try and break out the 3-ball that was on the head rail along with the 4-ball and hit it a little too hard missing the 1-ball in the side. No cash out!

  3. Mike B, Ricky R and Larry P each shot 76.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Chris V, Table 02:  Second time since Week 5 of this season.  The 7-ball finally dropped in the corner pocket. The 1-ball and the 8-ball were side by side near the second diamond between the corner and side pocket about an inch away from the cushion, the cue ball was in the middle towards the other side pocket making it a sharp cut on the 1-ball, and he came close but was unable to pocket the 1-ball.
  2. Nancy K, Table 07.  Second time since Week 8. Nothing was going in until the 3-ball came around and threw the 1-ball into the corner pocket. The 2-ball was next, straight in the corner, making it, and drew back a bit to make the 3-ball in the side, but came up short for the 4-ball. Cashed out with 3/9ths of the pot.

They will complete those games next Thursday. We may have to bring this issue up at the next Captain’s meeting on how to handle this. We don’t want this to become an issue.

The 1-ball wound up enclosed between the 6-ball and 4-ball at the foot-end left corner pocket about a foot from the corner pocket with the cue ball on the opposite end corner pocket. He concentrated on making a good hit on the 1-ball and he did, and amazingly without even touching the 4-ball or the 6-ball, but the 1-ball did not find a pocket.

LONG bank shot….didn’t look like it was going to be anything as it hit the rail just before the side pocket but then it ran into the 3-ball knocking it right into the corner pocket it was intended for. Easy shot on the 2-ball and just like Week 1 of this season, cashed out for 4/9th of the pot.
