Outstanding outing(s):
- The final tournament match was played entirely on Table 12 and turned out to be very interesting:
- The team of Nancy K and Wes P won the first game with dominance. If it was a league game, it would have been scored 10-1.
- The team of Romy G and Sean B won the second game with even greater dominance… 10-0.
- The hill-hill game had chances for both teams. Wes eventually sank the 8-ball to win the game and match.
- NOTE 1: Romy and Sean sailed undefeated through their 1st two matches.
- NOTE 2: It was Romy’s 2nd consecutive appearance in the finals and it was Sean’s 2nd appearance out of the past three tournaments. First time as teammates, though.
RAFFLE Status:
- Sean B was selected and broke dry on the recently re-felted Table 06. He felted okay about it.
- Jeff H was the 2nd selection and he also broke dry.
- The raffle pot rolls over to next week’s official 2021 Autumn signup night!
OTHER:
- The end of season ceremony included the following announcements:
- The Wolff Pack team finished in 1st place for the 2nd consecutive season and was awarded 25% of the season’s pot.
- Kevin C was the league’s official Top Shooter with an 8.778 points per game average. It was his 2nd consecutive title, but last season his average was nearly 3/4 of a point higher. NOTE: Scott C had a higher average this season (9.0), but didn’t have enough weeks to qualify.
- John V was honored as achieving the greatest average-per-game percentage improvement (calculated by comparing the final average to the week 01 incoming average).
- Six pizzas arrived slightly before 8pm and were 100% consumed by the night’s end.
- Seven incumbent teams executed the opportunity to signup for the upcoming Autumn season. Two other returning teams (Road Warriors and Free Agents) signed up too. A final signup opportunity will be available to the general public on Thursday, 30Sep2021 beginning at approximately 6:30pm.
- The scotch-doubles tournament had 16 participants (8 teams). The final match concluded at approximately 10:15pm.
- Nancy K returned from a two-week absence and clearly showed she was alive and kicking. More specifically during her first tournament match, she kicked an 8-ball victoriously into the southeast corner of Table 08!
