Outstanding outing(s):
- Bryan W, Andreas R, and Jerry R each had a perfect 80 – first ones we’ve had in the league since this season’s Week 05.
- Mona T, Ed S, Steve V, and Bob K each scored 77 points.
- Dave F ended with a 75.
- Special mention that Mike B tallied 74 this week. It is additionally noteworthy that previous Noteworthy events posts from this season’s Week 08 and Week 02 are now republished to identify that Mike B had scored 76 and 77 respectively. The author had neglected, albeit without realizing it, to originally include those facts at those posting times.
RAFFLE Status:
- Mike K made the 8-ball on the break into the southwest corner of Table 13. He had easy pickings on his subsequent 1-ball shot in the same pocket. Mike got perfect shape on the 2-ball, but the distance and stakes evoked his choice to cash out for two ninths of the available pot.
- Braxton L racked on Table 10 and made two balls on the break.
- The cue ball lined up for a 45 degree cut on the 1-ball in the north side.
- Braxton made it and caromed off the foot rail to mid-table.
- The 2-ball and 3-ball were close to each other at the approximate middle of the kitchen line and the 2 was available for a clean hit to the northeast corner.
- He lined up on it and paused.
- Braxton then backed off, repositioned, locked his right wheel, and got down on the shot again
- He went into his backswing and stopped. Then he cashed out
for one third of the available pot. - Then he abruptly sank the 2-ball perfectly into the northeast corner.
- The remaining raffle pot rolls over to Week 10.
OTHER:
- Bob K was already mentioned above as having an outstanding outing, but let’s recognize some additional achievements:
- It was his best score ever in our league.
- His score this week was more than 53% higher than his average score had been.
- He did this against a team that had been in first place for two of the past three weeks and is still in 4th place as of this writing.
- Tom B from Pocket Rattlers and Alex B from H.W.G.A Rejects were back playing again after a multiple weeks absence.
- We had 49 different people invest in the 9-ball runout raffle opportunity this week. We hadn’t had that many for a very, very long time.
- Thursday Night Football was not available on the venue TVs for the first time in 18 calendar weeks.
