Outstanding outing(s):
- Each of the two tournaments ended with a 1-gamer (it was getting late) for bragging rights and a wee percentage of the available pot – after equally splitting the pot majority.
- The team of Kelso/Miller defeated the team of Garrett/McCauley.
- The team of Parrish/Scott defeated the team of Hellstrom/McGovern. In the case of the latter, it was their only lost game the entire tournament.
RAFFLE Status:
- Ed S calmly and swiftly knocked out 4 balls (including 2 on the break). Staring down a full table 5-ball shot with cue-ball on the rail prompted him to ask what he’d get if he cashed out and the answer convinced him to cash out! Congratulations.
- Chris O got picked for the 3rd time in 5 weeks, but broke dry.
- Remaining pot rolls over to Autumn signup night.
Other:
- 24 players participated in two tournaments (kudos to Johnny G for jumping on board at last moment to make it work).
- Irony at work: exactly half the doubles teams joined a player from each of the season’s two divisions.
- Only one team of the 12 was comprised of season-long teammates.
- The first match played was a quarter-final match.
- Signup sheets for Autumn season ended the night with 9 teams listed so far – a little better than normal for party night.
- It was Stephanie’s 1st league night of service – welcome and thank you.
- Nine 18-inch pizzas seemed enough – there were only a few leftover pieces still present at 11:15pm.
