Noteworthy events from 2022 Autumn Week 03

Outstanding outing(s):

  1. Jerry R had the only perfect 80.
  2. Mona T, Bryan W, and Mark D each shot a 77.
  3. Esteban Q scored 76.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Mike K made a ball on his Table 07 break.  The 1-ball parked near the western rail. The 6-ball was much closer to that rail and only about 2-4 inches from the southwest corner.  Mike caromed the cue-ball off the 1-ball into the 6-ball and sank the 6.  The 1-ball wound up near the 2-ball inconveniently off the northwest rail and Mike cashed out for two ninths of the available pot.
  2. Sultan S also broke on Table 07, but he made two balls on that shot.  The 1-ball was ~5-7 inches south of the NW corner pocket.  The cue-ball was in the northeast quadrant and a smidgen further north than the 1-ball.  The long bank into the NE corner seemed obvious so when Sultan sliced the one perfectly into the NW corner, all observers were astonished. An aggravating moment later they all moaned with Sultan because the cue-ball scratched into the NE corner.
  3. The remaining raffle pot rolls over to Week 04.

OTHER:

  1. Alex B made his league debut and scored 62 against the trio of Mona, Mike B, and Andreas.  Cam R made his league debut against the trio of Larry P, Bryan W, and Julian.
  2. Lisa L returned for the first time in many seasons and her holiday hat helped her score some extra points.
  3. The deadline is now passed for naming dedicated subs on the rosters.  Rule 20.F stipulations are now the only means with which to adjust rosters.
  4. The deadline is also passed to participate in the Top Shooter side-pot competition.  Good luck to the zero people who signed up.
  5. In the final game of the night, Nancy K proved to Immer H that her memory of their first game was accurately scored.
  6. There were three absentees on this night, but none of those caused any change in team handicap. So the newly-adopted Rule 20.E was not applied.
