Noteworthy events from 2022 Winter Week 08

Outstanding outing(s):

A relatively weak week for top scores.

  1. Scott C, Fermin A, and tentatively Ed S scored 73 each.
  2. Matt S and Cruz A each shot a 71.
  3. Nobody else was in the 70s on this night except people who happen to be born prior to March 18, 1952 and others who live in warmer climates.

RAFFLE Status:

  1. Third week in a row that Nancy K was selected and broke dry.  This time on Table 02.  For the record, Scott C requested, and proceeded to, press the selection button.
  2. Jerry W (the Leader of the Pack – 1965 song by the Shangri-Las) had a laser break that sank a ball on Table 14.  He was mildly-dismayed that the 1-ball settled a little bit off the southern rail and west of the southeast corner pocket and leaving the cue-ball with no chance at a slice.  After some scrutiny, he banked with authority and the 1-ball dropped successfully into the northeast corner.  Jerry declined to attempt the 2-ball and cashed out.  NOTE: He then made the 2-ball cleanly into the west side pocket.
  3. The remaining raffle pot rolls over to Week 09.

OTHER:

  1. Terry N made his first appearance in several years and dropped a 60 on his opponents.
  2. Speaking of the Lets Go Brandon team, it incurred a 15-point deduction (rule 20D) by only having two players participate.
  3. The pool night ended with 3 weeks remaining in the season and more than half the teams are within 40 points of first place.
  4. March Madness and St Patrick’s Day converged with us tonight and a full moon joined in a little bit after we left.
