Outstanding outing(s):
- The final match of the Scotch Doubles tournament was the MonaT+BrianF team versus the SteveG+BrianS team. They agreed to equally split 8/9ths of the pot among them and then play the match for the remaining 9th. The Brian team that won had Steve.
RAFFLE Status:
- Jerry W got selected and his break on Table 02 was uneventful.
- Bill T had a crisp break on Table 05, but it also ended dry.
- The pot rolls over to next season.
OTHER:
The end-of-season ceremony was again brief, but included the following acknowledgments:
-
- self-critique of the League Operator for not having remembered to bring next season’s sign-up sheets
- thank you recognition to Wes P for recruiting two out of three new players (including Rick B) who joined this season
- Nuthin’ But a Stroke won the 1st Place Team title for the 3rd consecutive season – despite getting a partial facelift on or about Week 03.
- Kevin G finished with the highest average (8.875 pts/game).
- Eric L (17.27%), Dave G, and Tony L had the highest percentage increase in points-per-game average relative to the beginning of the season. IRONY ALERT: All three are from the Racking my Brain team.
- Prize money was handed out relative to the standings placement of each team.
Pizza was served and mostly devoured (~1/7th was left over).
The raffle was conducted and will rollover (see earlier blurb above).
The Scotch Doubles tournament was conducted among 14 players who signed up. A race to 3 format was chosen and finished at ~11pm. The pairings included teams named James+Dean and JonW+Nancy (2nd season in a row – although they were eliminated 1st round this time instead of finishing in the final match like last time).
Next Season’s sign-up sheets will be made available to the open public planned for the 1st Thursday of February, 2021. The League Operator will notify recent team captains of that date through email or text or both.
