It had been awhile, but the Shooter’s Thursday Night 8-Ball League resumed play on the evening of 23Jul2020 to open the Summer Season. A grand total of 19 league members attended with 15 competing amidst a throng of imagined spectators.
So, what about the actual action?:
Outstanding outing(s):
- Julian F scored the only perfect 80 of the night.
- Romy G, Wes P, and Jim S (all from the same team) were the only other players scoring higher than 70.
RAFFLE Status:
- Romy G broke dry on Table 3.
- Tim B, who was not even in attendance until after 9:20pm, cashed out for a profit of 84.8 times his investment. He had a great break and fulfilled perfect shapes on the 1-ball into the northwest corner of Table 9. Although well able to sink the deuce, he generously allowed a good amount to survive in the pot for next week’s raffle.
OTHER:
- “So, shall distancing be achievable?” was answered with “yeah, pretty much.” We had each assigned table with only empty tables immediately adjacent. With only two players active on each assigned table in a given game, this worked out well.
- Eric C was sworn in… just about every sentence he used. It was all in fun, though.
- The only two new players in our league this season made use of their scheduled BYE to get in practice on Table 12.
