Noteworthy events from ErlyWin 2021 Signup Night

Captains/delegates as of 7:30pm gathered for a brief discussion about rule change considerations.  One decision was made to remain unsanctioned – none opposed.  Therefore all rules from the previous season remain intact.

Key points

  1. Signups resulted in 8 teams by the end of the night.
  2. The season is scheduled to begin on Thursday 12Nov2020.  If we remain as 8 teams, the final night is scheduled to be on 21Jan2021.
  3. Any other teams and other roster-related fine-tuning are welcome, but the deadline to notify the League Operator is Tuesday 10Nov2020::8PM Chicago time.
  4. Open sub-slot filling is permitted through week 3 by virtue of rule 19B.
  5. There are two people (father and son combo) who are listed on the Teamless signup sheet for now.  They are therefore potentially available if another pair of individuals is interested to join a team.  Another possibility is to invite them into open sub spots or to fill vacancies that arise between now and Tuesday’s deadline.

Other Notes

  1. An individual name here and there has changed, and a team name here and there has changed, but otherwise all 8 teams are basically the same as those that just finished out the 2020 Autumn season.
  2. Lisa L and Dean H returned.
  3. The venue’s lighting design was cleverly arranged to encourage social distancing of table usage.
  4. The juke box was a non-participant at least until 9:30pm.
  5. Many shots were taken on the tables and many other shots were consumed in the vicinity of the tables.  Cheers!

Raffle Status

  1. Sean B was the first selection of the new season.  Although he sank two on the break, one was the 8-ball and the other was the cue ball.
  2. Kevin G was selected for the first time since Week 06 (Dec 1st) of the 2016 Autumn season.  This time he dropped at least 2 balls on the break and had an unfortunate late occurring collision that sent the cue ball from middle table to the far side of the kitchen.  There were two object balls interfering with a clear path at the 2-ball.  His kick shot off the southeast rail of Table 10 was a complete miss.
  3. The pot rolls over to opening night of the season.
