RAFFLE Status:
- Andrew S was selected for the 1st time this season. He sank the 6-ball in the NW corner on the Table 03 break. He had a tough cut on the 1-ball which missed the SE corner.
- Sean B pummeled the 3-ball into the NW corner, and 8-ball in the south side on his break. The 1-ball rested near the east rail and the cue-ball about 1/3 from the north side when drawing a line to the opposite side. Sean attempted a bank and missed.
- The entire raffle pot rolls over to next week’s official 2023_4 Winter Season sign-up night!
OTHER:
- By the end of the evening, 13 teams were listed on the signup sheets for the 2023_24 Winter season.
- The end of season ceremony included the following announcements:
- The team that finished 2nd last season Double Focused their attention this season to claim the top spot.
- Julian F was the league’s official Top Shooter with a 9.091 points per game average. Julian also won the Top Shooter side-pot (as described in the current rule 24.B).
- Braxton L was recognized with the greatest average-per-game percentage improvement (14.188%) when comparing final average to the average heading into Week 01. Cristina C was 2nd at 07.454% and Stan G third at 06.268%.
- Tony L was the player whose final average points per game was closest to what it was at the season’s onset finishing at 6.667 and having begun at 6.661.
- Other stats from this season:
- 83 of our 87 rostered players had at least one week played and 17 people played all 14 possible weeks.
- We had 11 players make their league debuts. Three each were were from the Last Game roster and the A Fresh Start roster. Four (AC C, Doni B, Josh G, and Nicholas D) were from Sharp Shooter’s.
- 22 different people were selected in the raffle draws this season (now 23 with Andrew S).
- Severn were picked more than once including Ed S four times and Josh G three.
- Seven cashed-in winnings – none more than once. Edgar A was the one who pocketed the most. Week 02 had two winners (Braxton L and Kevin C) whose winnings together exceeded Edgar’s.
- The league operator currently has the undistributed prize money for Frank C, Mike B and Dennis S of Big Slick and for Steve G and Bryan W from Papi Chulos; players from other teams should contact your team captain if you didn’t collect your prize money yet.
- Ten 18″ pizzas were served and none remained at the night’s end.
- A Scotch Doubles Tournament was conducted and had one “incident” that took a little while to resolve. Two opponents did not agree on whether one had fouled. Vocal volume and intensity were high and witnesses did not provide testimony until after the League Operator had declared to play the game over. The testimony won out, however, and the game resumed with recognizing the foul as being true.
- Trivial stat of the season: A player won one and only one game against each of the four opponents 23 out of nearly 784 chances this season.
- Four of them happened in Week 02, and four in Week 07.
- Eric L had it happen for him on three different weeks.
